Help Us Bring a Day of Fun and Animals to Local Children

Camp Volunteers and Children All Have Fun at Our Camp

THE RAIN FOUNDATION in the Tacoma, Washington area offers fun-filled day camps for children between the ages of 3 and 19. For arts and crafts to interacting with the animals, our camps are fun for the entire family. Without the help of camp volunteers and monetary donations from the community, our children’s day camp in Washington would not be possible.

Day Camps

We hold our nonprofit day camp in Washington several times a year between May and September. Each day camp runs from 10:00am to 2:00pm. At our camp, we offer a wide range of activities for children to choose from. Camp participants have five different stations where they will learn about farm animals. We have a DJ on-site playing the children’s favorite music. They then get to have lunch on our patio with the animals around them. Our camp is wheelchair accessible, so disabled children are encouraged to attend. The camp schedule this year is as follows:

  • May 6th
  • July 1st
  • August 12th

We offer classes and camps for all disabled and able bodied children. The day camps are free and donations are encouraged. We offer four horsemanship classes, $20 per child, per class, and siblings are $15 a class for up to 3 children.

Please preregister online.

Sign up for horsemen classes once enrolled in the camp. Please mail us a 3x5 card with your child's name, age, and their favorite song before they attend the camp. Each child will have a folder and name tag the day they come to camp and a have a name tag. Children are to bring sack lunches and have closed-toe shoes. Your child should also bring food to camp that they can donate to the local food banks.

Our organization is able to continue due to generous monetary donations from others. Your donation will help us host the camps, which cost about $450 each. The money is used to pay for the horse food and to buy supplies for the camp. Your donations are tax deductible and can be made online, through the mail, or in person. If you work at a business that has a Matching Gifts Program, and you donate to our organization, your employer will match your donation. Please check with your employer to see if they participate in the wonderful program before making your donation.
